| Can just as easily harm someone too... |
Let me point out something on assault weapons: The definition is very broad as to include some pistols even.
Generally they have:
Semi-automatic features
Detachable magazine
Pistol grip
Well, that's about everything I own.
Let's go back to pre-gunpowder and the wars that were fought with swords and shields and the rapes that were committed at knife-point and the likes with their billions of dead and reeeeaaaaally quickly ask ourselves if the "Assault Weapons" are reaaaally the problem.....shall we?
If anything, I might suggest that Assault Weapons are safer to some degree because most people ignorant of guns can't figure them out enough to get them to work!
Given that with a lever action or a slide action firearm or even a double action revolver I can nearly keep pace with an Assault Weapon on target - enough to matter anyways in about anything I'd find or hope not to find myself in our wonderful town of Beaverton - watch this video then tell me whether it matters whether we restrict Assault Weapons and return to things like revolvers:
Besides, it takes 250,000 rounds to make one kill....if anything you ain't got a prayer of hitting anything and everyone should be getting assault weapons for Christmas presents and we should all be turning in our hammers and screwdrivers just to be safe.....
Think it matters if it has a detachable magazine and is semi-automatic with a pistol grip?

1) Let's keep in mind that the border has two sides. Why, all of a sudden, is it the US's responsibility to keep weapons from crossing INTO Mexico instead of Mexico's responsibility to keep said weapons OUT OF Mexico. Get your panties in a wad about THAT, Mexico.
ReplyDelete2) Very few civilians HAVE assault weapons (except for the hoods.) Assault weapons are capable of selective fire -- single round fired with each trigger pull, three round bursts or fully automatic. AND, as SW pointed out, it takes A LOT of training and field exercises to be able to even hold an assault weapon on target.
3) While we're on the subject, let's talk about GUN CONTROL. Again, very few civilians have "guns." If they do, they must have a forklift, 'cause that's what it's gonna take to carry it around. Guns are those BIG, long tubes that are aboard naval vessels that fire those BIG explosive shells -- or, those BIG, long tubes that are wheel-mounted that fire those BIG explosive shells in field artillery. Most of the people I know, outside the military, have RIFLES and/or PISTOLS. So, go get YOUR panties in a wad about THAT, all you anti-"gun" freaks.
Yah well I blame my problems on Mexico. There. Now my problems are solved because I blamed them on someone else. I feel better.....
